Hi my name is Tibeb Mekonen, I am a sophomore General Biology major and a minor in Computer Science. I work on looking at the sex chromosomes of a parasitic nematode, Brugia malayi. 

A few things I do outside of the lab is I am a Life Sciences Scholar Mentor, I tutor with Maryland Mentor Corps, and I am a part of Remote Area Medical, which is a program where you volunteer at clinics in underserved communities.
